Web 2.0 is the newest internet design that gives everybody authorizing rights. It provides exciting new ways to improve and enliven education, giving students the opportunity to contribute and collaborate on educational material online.
Tools that Can be used in the classroom:
Glogster: This is a virtual poster. Students can create their own posters online; a teacher can give a project based on the topic they are learning about in class and give the option of being able to create a poster by hand (old school way), or by creating a glogster. Facebook: you can create a page with your students in order to create a conversation with others. Teachers can use their class as input to decide what to put on their site. It is suggested that only teachers be the one that add content information, that way it doesn't get out of control or inappropriate things get on the site. facebook.com
Twitter: Teachers can create and educational use out of twitter for their classes by creating an account and posting to it and letting students weigh in. It is suggested that teachers make this site private for the student's safety. You will have to approve the students to join the private twitter site. twitter.com
Prezzi: This is a website where one can create a presentation, and be creative however one chooses. Teachers can create their presentations on prezzi instead of using a power point they can use this in order to motivate their students learning. prezzi.com
